URBAN ARTS FEST 2012

Urban artist Title at last year’s event
New Urban Era (NUE) is a collective of forward thinking artists and enthusiasts, all with the same passion for original music and arts, bringing together a feast of urban arts including graffiti, street dance, skate and all forms of dance music culture.

New Urban Era is proud to announce that they will be hosting their second Urban Arts Festival at Tamworth Castle Grounds on Saturday July 21.

Located at the Graffiti Tunnels opposite Strykers, this one day event - labelled NUE URBAN ARTS FESTIVAL 2012 - will see the worlds leading graffiti documenter Aerosol Planet hosting a graffiti jam, bringing the UK’s finest artists to Tamworth.

Among an armada of talent on route to Tamworth,  NUE welcomes back the familiar face of graffiti artist ‘TITLE’, who made his impressive and much talked-about debut art exhibition at the Urban Canvas Exhibition hosted by NUE at Vanity bar earlier this year.
To complement the art, during the day there will be two sound systems with live DJ sets from local talent including globe trotter Andy Milford AKA Mr M, along with scratch masters Petch, Funkfreaker and old school specialist DJ Scotty.

As well as the visual and audible feast, NUE will also be treating visitors to street dance performances from Tamworth’s NRG & PMYC.

NRG will provide a performance that reinforces their elite team’s first class quality, meanwhile PMYC will delight the crowd with their under 12s dancers.

If this is not enough to work up your appetite for a large slice of Urban Art, street gymnastics STREET DYNAMIX will be providing an exciting display of breath taking free style free running - also known as the art of parkour.
New Urban Era spokesman Vic Brown added:
“We are really excited about this dynamic event. This year’s Urban Arts festival is born out of collaborations with many talented performers and enthusiasts who have made this happen by giving their time and skills for free.  This is truly an event for the community, produced by the community.”

To coincide with the eventTamworth’s Dub skate shop will host a skate jam stage with music at the Skate Park next to the Festival site.

NEW URBAN ERA URBAN ARTS FESTIVAL 2012 is a family friendly arts event for enthusiasts and the general public alike. It is a free of charge event open to the public. The event site is an alcohol free zone.
